Teach me to ship AppleDash again

When I think about it, AppleDash is all about that unresolved mutual admiration and affection and attraction and tension between the two.  And then something happens, one of them (RD in my opinion) does something sudden and kind of stupid because she can’t say it outloud, like a little kid picking on their first crush.  Or (AJ is how I see it) just finally bursts and has to say something because she just can’t keep lying to herself about it.

After that initial confession, assuming that everything goes well, I can see them dating for a bit, but only because Rarity insists that they simply MUST do things properly.  But it’s kinda silly and awkward and the two maybe have a crisis where they don’t really know if that means they aren’t meant for each other.  But now that they’ve been together they can’t stand pretending that there isn’t anything there anymore and get back together and just end up doing all the fun things they always do together, just with some extra sappy stuff on top.

There is are lots of potentially fun little crises to wonder about how they handle things.  Like when RD joins the wonderbolts and has to worry about leaving Applejack, or how the busy farm life conflicts with how RD wants to just goof off, or if either of their families enter the picture in some way, or once Granny dies, or if something else happens to AJ’s family or farm, or if only one of them ever wants foals, or if both do and they can’t decide on how to handle it.

And through all of this keeping in mind AJ’s honest, hardworking stubbornness, and RD’s lazy, brash, but unflinching loyalty.  Those two qualities combined would make a rock solid pair if they can just get together in the first place.

I think this is a great view of the ship. Anyone else have anything to add?

I think their personalities are different enough to keep things interesting, but similar enough to keep a relationship going long term. They seem like the kind of couple that the longer they are together, the stronger and more in love they become (especially as Rainbow continues to grow and mature on a personal level).
